How are our times unprecedented?

Call me crazy, but I don't think a virus that causes at least 280,000 deaths and counting, a virus that causes permanent, chronic conditions for the rest of your life is a "mild virus."

Nope only 6% of those were covid alone according to the CDC. The rest were from comorbidities that would have killed them anyway.

Someone doesn't understand how death certificates work. The cause of death is the condition that starts the chain of events that leads to someone dying. In other words, if that condition was never present, the patient would have survived.

To use an analogy, if a person is shot to death, technically that person would have died of organ failure or blood loss. However, the shot was the thing that caused the chain of events that led to that person's death, meaning that that is the cause of death. It really isn't that difficult to understand.

I understand completely, but what's on the death certificate and how its counted by the CDC are two different things. Hospitals are telling all their doctors to put covid on the death certificate if the patient tests positive. Then the CDC is counting anyone with covid as a covid death.
Not only that its much harder to tell the original cause of death in the case of a viral infection compared to something like a gunshot wound. Would they have died anyway from heart disease if they didn't have covid? We don't know and neither do most doctors.

Although there are certain exceptions, on the whole, AIDS was an opt-in pandemic. Don't do stupid and immoral things and odds are you'll never get it.

And yet if people had listened to Christians and our sexual morality, there never would have been an AIDS crisis in America. But don't worry, getting millions of people killed by a horrible, entirely preventable disease is surely worth it to thumb your nose at those stupid, backward Christians.
