"radical" says that no one can serve god and the military. this is hardly radical unless you're that much of a snowflake. see the image? your tax dollars goes to the military, and they do this. if there is a righteous god, this is not what he wants

Unfortunately in some circumstances such as WWII a million fold response is required as we did to japan. Unfortunately we have too many who are too weak to eliminate terrorism and terroist states. God has given us the intelligence to recognize evil. Too bad snowflakes allow hitlers, and others by appeasing them. They should be destroyed. However too many liberal democrats and their like do not have the intestinal fortitude to do so. We did worse than this to Japan and Nazi cities. They quit!! We are such fools to not realize that only terrorists understand this. We allow our cities to burn when we should have arrested all looters, arsonists and made mandatory sentences at hard labor for 10 years especially if shown on film. We are too weak!

"Unfortunately in some circumstances such as WWII a million fold response is required as we did to japan."

yup. now cancer rates are higher than they were before 1945. Japan & Germany have moved on from their pasts, and now have better infrastructure than us, while we cling on to dumb historical events like 9/11 and the Atomic Bomb.

"Unfortunately we have too many who are too weak to eliminate terrorism and terroist states. God has given us the intelligence to recognize evil."

it's not that there are too many too weak, but rather that our wars are designed to be unwinnable and pointless, with no purpose other than benefiting the military industrial complex and stimulating the economy. if God gave people the ability to recognize evil, then ideally people like you should seek out and fight those who design these wars.

"However too many liberal democrats and their like do not have the intestinal fortitude to do so"

tfw you forget that FDR was a democrat. this is not some partisan shit

"We did worse than this to Japan and Nazi cities. They quit!!"

this has also given many nations such as China, Russia, & Iran reasons to hate us. the more wars we wage, the less countries like us. the more you know.

"We allow our cities to burn when we should have arrested all looters, arsonists and made mandatory sentences at hard labor for 10 years especially if shown on film."

last time i checked, Minneapolis was in a better state in 2020 than Hiroshima was in 1945. if we should intervene on a federal level rather than state level with Minneapolis, by that logic Japan should've nuked Los Angeles by now.

It's far more nuanced than that. Virtually every Christian organization has provisos for 'Just War Doctrine', which explains the ethical guidelines under which war can morally be prosecuted and how to do it. If you want I can explain it, as it's a very interesting subject!

As an example, the initial assault on Afghanistan would have qualified as a 'Just War' because it was a response to a direct attack with clear goals that were achieved without escalating to unreasonable measures (everyone agrees the initial assault on Al Qaeda was a success'...however, that war has devolved into a pointless slog with no clear end and no clear mission. While it's unfair to blame soldiers for what happens over there (the politicians behind war deserve the blame for the suffering and atrocities that result, with the exception of incidents like the My Lai massacre that originated with soldiers), it is perfectly reasonable to seek a peaceful end to that conflict since we are doing nothing but getting good men and women killed or grievously injured.

Therefore we see that, for almost all the people who believe in God, war and serving Him are not mutually exclusive provided certain conditions are met. That those conditions are met is the responsibility of politicians, and the failure to do so should be laid on their shoulders.

I believe with state sponsored terrorism it should be met with 1000 fold response. Al Qaeda should have been nuked into oblivion. It worked on Japan. That should be our terrorism response. Also quick trial for terrorists with a humiliating death.

While your username does make this contextually funny, there was only one scenario in which a nuke could have been deployed in Afghanistan, which was the plan to use a low-yield weapon on Bin Ladin in a cave system. It would have been isolated, safe, and effective.

The problem with Afghanistan is that we've stretched a two-year operation into a twenty year slog. We could have been in and out, having killed the Taliban in its entirety, within a couple of years. Pakistan wouldn't shelter them if the U.S threatened war. No one can or wants to oppose us when we're angry and united. After 9-11 we were both of those. Now it's a politically divisive hell that does nothing but get good men and women killed. The only benefits are lining the pockets of defense contractor wallets.

There are always idiots who want to do crazy things. Look at the second Iraq war.

You say that we allow China into the Middle East if we withdraw, but you also say we shouldn't have invaded? Pick one.

This is the entire problem I'm trying to explain: The country wouldn't have been united behind a massive military operation if 9/11 hadn't occurred. There's also a difference between an invasion to conquer territory and an invasion to annihilate a terrorist presence. We should have gone with the latter and then gotten out. We instead went with the former.

Why shouldn't we have gone after the terrorists who killed thousands of our own citizens in an unprovoked attack? A large-scale hunt-and-kill operation was the best way to do it. We just stayed far too long.

China doesn't need to involve Afghanistan to exterminate the Uyghurs...they're doing that well enough already. Besides, as you said the USSR and the US have already been bloodied in there...I doubt China would fare any better.

I don't think the world would buy that...China has those western provinces sealed up like Pandora's Box. No one gets in or out without their permission.

I'm a Catholic. I forgive my enemies. That's not the same as keeling over and letting them kill you. Learn the difference.

Contextually different...He died to save us from our sins. That was the entire purpose of the Passion (you are indeed correct about this. :)

However there are moral grounds for engaging in war (Just War Doctrine). One of the most basic is that you never strike first and you only respond with the same force the enemy used on you. Well, we didn't strike first (our 'sin' was being a Christian nation) and they declared that we should all be exterminated. We can't live to serve God if we're being executed by radical Muslims.

Furthermore, America is a Christian nation, but it operates on basic secular principles. One of those is that national security must be defended. As good Christian citizens we have a right and a duty to defend the country that allows us to express our beliefs. This was the justification for the initial strike on the Taliban and Al Qaeda. It only became an unethical conflict when we stayed on after failing to accomplish our mission.

The Christian crusades are an example. Plus if you kill a bad enough person, does that make you a bad person? It doesn't matter what you do, just if your action was somewhat justifiable (like killing a murderer) and meant for good.

Christian crusades were a response to hundreds of years of the murder and annexation by the Muslims. When they realized they were dealing with Zealots, they went and took the holy land back. Please learn history.

9/11, did they seriously think that then

Yes, Muslims in the middle east think the US is the source of all evil in the world.
