What gives 1 person or 1 party the right or the power to determine what's true or not for the people?

What if THEY ARE lying? Then what?

I doubt it..

Wouldn't it be better rather to teach people, starting at a young age, how to determine 'Truth from Tales, Fact from Fiction' through critical thinking, logic and investigative research?

Coupled with recognising "What Makes Sense" through intuitive and instinctive feeling and ability?

This way, information can flow freely and it would be up to the viewer to decide for themselves, whether or not they would like to take the information on as 'Fact or Fiction'..
Or anything else they'd like to do with it!

I was referring specifically to information being shared amongst people.

I see products and technology in a marketplace as a more physical element..

1) i do believe people have the right to sell whatever they want, as long as they go through the appropriate legal and lawful channels..

The 'channels' (laboratories, administrations and agencies) that we, as a society, have put in place to gather the accurate information on these products ensuring us of their safety and validity.

2) I'm pretty sure we already live in a world where we decide as consumers whether or not a product is good for us..

(and good for one may not necessarily be for good another..)

we have an individual choice whether or not to purchase, and then consume, a product based on the information we've collected through experience, testimony or hear-say😊

And even then, there are plenty of products that have gone through the appropriate channels and have turned out that they're bad (though not fatal) for us, especially in large quantities, and consumer discernment is advised.

Others include:

alcohol, processed sugars, trans-fats, processed meats (salami, sausage, etc.) and processes foods in general.

I agree with you, we all need and deserve accurate information but we can't (and i believe we shouldn't) ALWAYS leave the it up to others to decide for us..

We need to take some ownership over our lives and choices and take responsibility for our actions and outcomes..

Otherwise, we'll end up being told what to do, what to think, what to say, where to go, how long to be in the bathroom, who to spend time with, etc.

First of all, have you heard about the [A]rtificial [I]ntelligent [A]lgorithms that Google and pretty much every social media companies use to 'track and bank our personal data' for "advertising purposes"?

Google, Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia (and many more) are NOTORIOUS for using this tech, publicly "For" us, secretly against us, so they can profit from data collecting and advertising..

They look for trends and patterns in your searches and what you talk about with your friends and family..
and they form an "online persona" for it's Users and steer them towards more of what they've been looking for and buying..

However, many whistleblowers in the industry have come out explaining how they [A.I.A] are also used to manipulate us and choose what comes up in our searches and feeds?

There's a doco on Netflix called 'The Social Dilema' that explains it, from the insiders perspective..
there's atleast 15-20 who have come forward!!!

To counteract the algorithms "one sided nature", (especially with topics like politics that have 2 or more sides to the story)..
..I'd imagine, would be to search both sides of every story, not just from 1 media channel or avenue for information..

this way (hopefully🤞🏼) we can bypass the A.I.A and get more of the picture as opposed to just a slice of it..

cos he's not a politician, he's a businessman.

He follows his speech teleprompter only 20% of the time (if that), the rest of the time he "wings" it..

He can be very crass and sarcastic, he jokes alot, he says things that normal politicians are trained not to say and that's what we've become used to and is seen as "normal"..

Though, when it comes to politics, "it is not what you say that matters, it's what you do.."
..and he has done alot in the short time he's been in office!

I did see the disinfectant speech you refer to..i watched a few of the mainstream media news versions and the white house unedited version..

2 things the news LOVE to do is 'selective editing' and 'cut and paste publishing'..

they'll only show 20seconds of a 45min speech, so it's very easy to take things WAY out of context..
then their news anchor speaks before and after the clip to "fill in the gaps"..

What the news didn't show it's viewers was that there was a Doctor who spoke before POTUS for about 15mins about their discoveries on what effects;
sunlight, ultra violent rays and disinfectant have on Covid19..

First, governments all over the world have been putting chlorine in the water supply as a 'disinfectant'..

Second, when we drink it, we are 'injecting' it into our bodies..

Third, when he said this, he was looking at the Doctor to his side and was asking him if it were possible to do this or not..

he wasn't making a statement, like the news made out he did..very sneaky reporting!

80-90%of the mainstream media companies are owned by 5 major corporations, Disney being one of them and the biggest!!

All the employees at these stations (reporters and journalists, news anchors, etc) like employees everywhere, are told what to do by their superiors..
including the head honchos(editors and publishers)..

How easy would it be for Disney and the other Corporations, to send out a memo to all the Heads running their media companies..

..to start pumping out 'slander, propaganda and misinformation' as Truth..

..about anyone, let alone Trump, that were 'making policy and enforcing regulations' that started messing with their business modus operandi?!

Diplomacy and 'Transparency to The People'..
I would also suggest that We all decide, as a People, what the best way to go about the situation would be, moving forward..

Eg. Is there enough space?
Is there enough food, water, resources, etc.?

If the non-hateful "invaders" choose war, then self defense is a form of Love..

you are right, however there are some people who just cant feel it for someone else, or a group of people, for example, this year one cop killed a black man accidentally, and now everyone wants all cops to die. There's no getting rid of hate at the rate that we are at

Personally though, I'm very cautious of what i see on any screen..i question it's validity and authenticity..

My reason being; media manipulation through 'cut and paste publishing' and 'selective editing' to create a desired outcome for a particular (nefarious) agenda..

One example comes from a guy called John Perkins who claimed to be what is pseudo named an Economic Hitman..

He claims, that back in the 1953, US big oil had their eyes on Iranian oil and the Prime Minister at the time..(Democratically elected Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh)
..believed that Iranians should benefit from their own oil..

US Big oil didn't like this..

So, instead of sending in the army, they sent in a single Intelligence operative (Kermit Roosevelt) with a few million dollars and managed to get Mossadegh over thrown..

He did this by paying a few thousand people to stage a protest while having a few cameras positioned in different locations..
He then made a "movie" that ended up convincing the rest of Iran that their leader was evil and that whole country was in revolt..
