My mom was a fan, seen her in concert, but being 70 and still performing and inspiring musicians for decades is no small feat. Not my style but very accomplished

She always struck me as being famous for being famous. Her autotuned crap in the 90's was horrendous but if she can make a go of it, more power to her. I thought of Dolly Parton actually, who I recently learned was actually talented as hell, altho I'm no huge country fan, tho she did more than that.

There was no auto tune in the 90's, still with sound boards and DAT's were fairly new, they actually had to have tallent, also she's bin singing sinse the 60's, anolog days.

The late 90's? I'm not sure about that, tho I would concide it might be early 2000's. Dude, her comeback hit was autotuned to hell. Not every 'star' was a great singer but she did have to actually perform in the past, unlike today.

But was it accentauted, intentional to have that sound?

Yes, but it sounds robotic and horrible. I didn't mean that she needs it.

Meh, she had longevity, more than we can say about alot of today's so called "talent" still a smokin body, Tina Turner, Dolly, and I can't believe I'm saying this, even Celine, these were all pioneering women that deserve respect for their work, but I'm biased being a musician and admire their work.

Yeah, I play music too. That's why I like Dolly. Vocalists are different though. I respect Tina's talent, and Celine for their technical brilliance. Cher doesn't match up, tho like I said, good for her lasting so long.

I wrote a letter to her and Sonny begging them not to get divorced.
Being a tad way young, I didn't know where to send it tho, so.....

Oh, and one time part of my family was going to Korvettes but I wasn't, so I begged them to buy Cher's new hit single, "Angie"
To my dismay, they brought home the Rolling Sones 45 as Cher's song was actually called "Half Breed."

Years later I very much appreciated the mistake, as the Stones song was much more preferable to my teen ears.
