I don't see how much FDR like governance will fly today. Not to mention that the people who were in control of the Stock Market and Reserve Banking are no longer the people who controlled it in 1920/30's. So the boom/ bust creation that they were able to use to manipulate the people with is much diminished today and only real events like for example Corona virus which in my opinion has gotten an excessive response worldwide with the lockdowns for their length and severity ( you and I don't have a great deal of chance of death from it) are things which will halt the economy.

Did FDR do some beneficial things, yes sure but at what cost, enslavement to the bankers is what he gave and devaluation of all currency is what he ensured and therefore his actions are the reason that American standard of living is not higher today. As our currency is backed by nothing except hot air the buying power of a dollar is a few % of what it was before FDR's actions ensured the downward spiral in the U.S dollars worth.

I understand what you mean when you say they're united more than previously but will they stay united is the real question which I propose can be answered with a resounding NO. Divided the party will fall, splinter into at least 2 probably 3 sets of core ideologies who will be able to unite together as seperate stand alone parties. The only withstanding aspect to non fracture is if the ideas that the far left wants are bought upon the people like they're rats in a pot where the temperature slowly rises until they are cooked alive, so incrementally. But I doubt they will have that much time available and so like all socialist communistic ideas they must be enforced with speed before anyone can react otherwise.
