Okay, so if I am understanding you. NYT is an invalid news source because dead guy from 70 years ago, never mind the fact that they are currently rated at much higher factual reporting than FOX or OAN.
That being said...
Any well-informed person would heed the wise immortal words of Ronald Reagan regarding the News. "Trust, but verify." So, while you are holding the entirety of the NYT responsible for the actions of a guy who's been dead for over 70 years... I mean, that line of thinking speaks for itself. You're merely looking for a reason not to listen to any of the credible journalists there. I also don't think the same executive team who was around when Duranty was working for The Times still hold their positions. Obviously, leadership has changed.

I mean, if this really upsets you, perhaps you should form a petition with many who share your ideas.
Going further, the NYT has been publicly acknowledging Duranty's failures since the 1980s. Additionally, in November 2003, the Pulitzer board found no clear and convincing evidence of deliberate deception in the 1931 reporting that won him a Pulitzer Prize.
So, to me, this just seems like a smear campaign designed to discredit the New York Times because of a guy who stopped working there in the early 1940s, making this an 80 year old issue. Good grief man.
