I’ve moved away from libertarian thought as I’ve politically matured and came to realize the economic side of it isn’t workable, though I remain as socially liberal as I ever was.
I was always a supporter of gun control, which put me at odds with many libertarians.
And I came to realize there were an awful lot of folks who associate with libertarianism who either don’t really understand the philosophical side of it or are very far down a conspiracy rabbit-hole.
But Gary Johnson and his running-mate Bill Weld (both former governors of New Mexico and Massachusetts, respectively) struck me as good-natured and practical guys.
But with the total collapse of respectability of the GOP under Trump, and the imperative of keeping them out of power until they return at least to a Romney/McCain style party, my new political home is the Democratic Party where I think I’m going to stay for awhile.
