He discovered a new world that stimulated exploration and eventually led to a connected world. Those who lived there were as oblivious to the old world as the old world was to the new. Columbus’ discovery by physically proving rumors began the connections of the world together.

Stop supporting Cesar, Alexander the Great, or any other historical explorer or conqueror figure. Tear down their statues? Stop supporting the Aztecs, Greeks, Romans, Incas, Gauls, mongols? Tear down the artifacts and destroy their ruins! They all did what you say Columbus did. Stop supporting essentially human history? Don’t talk about it because some of it was barbaric? It happened, it was often barbaric but it is human history and you want to ignore it because your 2020 SJW values.

Because that day is Columbus Day. That is the day we celebrate the man that sailed across uncharted Unknown ocean and discovered a new world.

he didn't discover something if people already lives there. The indigenous peoples discovered it. Even before Columbus, the Vikings discovered the to-be america. a man responsible for millions of deaths shouldn't be celebrated.

Just because people inhabited the continent doesn’t change that he discovered it for what is called the old world. Yes the Vikings may have placed a settlement that did not survive, but even in the Viking lands it was a rumor a story. Columbus brought back tangible proof. He did not kill millions of people and is no more responsible for the deaths than Santa Claus. If you are so upset why not move off of this usurped land? Why not rectify the horrible wrong and get off this continent?
