No, it absolutely was not an afterthought. It's sad how completely ignorant you are. Several states simply would not sign on to the Constitution without the promise that a bill of rights would almost immediately be appended to it.

The constitution was written. It was about how the government would be run. The people said,"what about us" and then the bill of rights was written. Read your history. You can't lie about that. I bet you don't even know how many times they've tried taking the bill of rights away. Have you ever even seen the constitution or just copies and internet pics? Bet you've never even been to DC.
