Yes you don't know much about Rhodes or his scholars to still be believing it's a good thing.
I know or rather knew someone who got a Rhodes Scholarship and whilst it certainly was an achievement for him to have done it and our group all thought so.
I didn't have the knowledge I do now about Rhodes himself and what his scholars just so happen to get involved in later in their careers. So I wouldn't be as enthusiastic now if it happened.

"The Scholars" Well in short they're often reaching or placed into the highest positions of power in all countries that have had participants and it is ongoing. Afterall these are supposedly the best minds out there. Not all of them go on to do anything nefarious but they are learnt in certain ways. They have often acted as a means to bringing about world government usually through the removal of or altering of the rights of citizens and pushing forth with agendas to achieve societal change as espoused by U.N and other more subversive groups like the Council on Foreign Relations and the TriLateral Commision.
I suggest that what I refer to will also require more digging than that which is shown on the first pages in a search about Rhodes Scholars. They are afterall having had there further education funded by a guy who did what he did and if you just looked at the surface of things with him you don't see all he did.
