People who get into the business of drug dealing don't usually just start dealing they get exposed to it slowly because they need to learn how to do the job without falling foul ofd the law. Her story when put into a timeline would no doubt reveal that she had followed this same trajectory of being slowly eased into it. At which point she does the job as autonomously as possible, they got caught.
