I wasn’t privy to any peace talks. I’ll respect the stream owner’s vision but the war against me isn’t over and neither is mine

Ok maybe I should have given more details lol. During the election I received a lot of questions about this stream (mainly about how it contradicts my platform) and it got me thinking. It really wasn't the best idea and it certainly doesn't help bring peace. A few days ago I looked and saw the most recent image was a week or two old, and damn kids isn't really that active anymore and the bulk of the posts aren't targeted at imgflip kids. I decided that now would be a good time to try to end the conflict.

Oh no, I totally get it. I hope ImgFlip elections can inspire movements toward conflict resolution. And advocates of peace engaging in conflict is always an awkward place to be, though I do believe in the principle of “good trouble” as the late Rep. John Lewis put it: aka productive, purposeful conflict.

At the same time, it’s not a wise idea to accept the invitation of aggressors to unilaterally disarm. If the issues aren’t actually fixed, further conflict is inevitable, I think.

Maybe the issues aren’t capable of being fixed. Hate is an intrinsic part of human nature, sadly. A platform broadly dedicated to freedom of expression with a bare-minimum approach to content control will inevitably find itself in a position of broadcasting hate.

But maybe this particular conflict has run its course. Indeed I’ve been posting here less lately and I feel like I’ve pretty much said my peace. I think we’ve achieved a lot and helped give a voice to others. People can either take these words to heart, or not.

I haven’t checked up on the damn_kids stream in awhile, so I don’t know what’s going on there. But while inspired by that nonsense, as I perceive this stream, it was never entirely or mainly a direct reaction to their rather trivial complaints about comment-upvoting etiquette and such, but rather an exposé of deeper issues they’d rather not talk about.

I came here to post a meme and saw the stream description stating it is now inactive.

I respect that, however:

Until the parties at issue come together to hammer out a global resolution of the issues raised, this amounts to a cheaply purchased and fated-to-collapse ceasefire rather than a long-term peace deal.

I would be happy to try for such a resolution, but have a suspicion my peace terms would not be met by the damn_adults who, in the interests of ending this war (really, just this battle), we will no longer call damn_adults.
