President Pandemic said this on April 10 (Good Friday), during a White House Press Conference: “The minimum number was 100,000 lives and I think we’ll be substantially under that number. Hard to believe that if you had 60,000, you can never be happy, but that’s a lot fewer than we were originally told and thinking.” The 60,000 deaths were what his "management" of the disease would limit the number to, according to him. We now know the total will be at least three times what he predicted. It will be close to what experts were predicting if he did not institute a strong policy on masks and social distancing. It seems that some people are advancing the idea that a handful of cities experiencing some property damage is more important than the over 100,000 lives that could have been saved if the pandemic had not been so poorly managed.

Talk about misrepresenting the facts!!! I hate to call you a liar. Fauci said in a 60 Minutes interview that masks should be reserved for health professionals and the ill. This was during the shortage of supplies, in early March.. When supplies were adequate, the Surgeon General, Fauci and other health experts recommended masks and social distancing. Masks alone were not adequate. I remember this as if it was yesterday, and it was verified by Snopes. Now, from that you hear "masks are useless," because you support the cover-up by the worst president in our history of his botched handling of the one major crisis of his term in office. We basically fired Lyndon Johnson for about 45,000 dead Americans in Vietnam. This Loser, President Pandemic, should be walked to the side gate of the White House on January 20 for his role in the deaths of more than 200,000 of my countrymen. Shame on you for standing up for him, in light of all the pain and suffering he has caused. I hope they pay you well and that you choke on what the money buys you.

Exactly. A third come of the deaths/cases come from New York, New Jersey, Illinois and California. Probably the same for Aids and other viruses a d pandemics. Clean up suckers.

Your fake repulse is outrageous! President Pandemic is on videotape taking credit for a total death count of 60,000. In that he took credit for what he thought would be a smaller number, he can be held accountable for the ultimate outcome, which now is about 200,000 and will be much higher. At the time he made the claim that his leadership was going to keep fatalities low, he was also predicting that when Spring and warm weather came, the disease was going to "Disappear. Like Magic." That didn't work out so well for him, did it?

Shortly after reading yours and other posts here, I took a break to catch up on my reading. I cannot believe the timing of a story that appeared in Nature today. Nature is one of the world's premier scientific publications. It is not US based and has never taken an interest in who is in charge of our Executive Branch of Government. Like most of the scientific community, they presumed that no one would politicize science or medicine to the detriment of our citizens. That is why the body that rates each country's capacity and likelihood to respond correctly to medical challenges chose the USA as the best. Until now. They told the story of the world's top scientists and medical experts in the area who assess responses to about 200 challenges each year, being caught unprepared by what they saw with Covid 19 in America. These people play out preparedness scenarios they thought took every contingency into account. The article was titled, "Two decades of pandemic war games failed to account for Donald Trump." They presumed, incorrectly, that he would do (or allow his health experts to do) whatever was necessary to protect the health and lives of our citizens. It is their informed opinions that he did not. I trust their scientific observations over the partisan political babble I have read here today. I find it sad that these non-Americans care about our fellow citizens more than our leader and his toadies do.
