If both a black man and white man make bad life choices and face the repercussions of it, the liberals immediately conclude that some form of ominous indeterminate discrimination is the cause of the black ones situation.

Key word there is "pursuit" - we're not guaranteed that we'll achieve happiness, just that we can go out and pursue it.

I am a really stupid Conservative. I started doing odd jobs before I was a teen, joined the Army at 17 and was a staff sargent after eight years. When I got out I spent 32 years as a Carpenter. Married my wife at twenty-five and have been married for thirty-nine years reared five children. Two are unmarried and live at home. Three are married and I have 6 grand kids.

I am really stupid for putting all of the effort it took to accomplish all of that.

But it feels good.
