"Herd immunity" means nothing if you're one of the dead.

Unfortunately, the virus will keep killing people until herd immunity is achieved either naturally or artificially with a vaccine. If you do a lockdown, you will have a increase soon as you open things up. It’s going to be quite some time before a usable vaccine is developed, let alone produced and distributed to enough people. The medical profile of people at risk of dying is quite well known by now. Those people need to be protected to no end.
