The economy tanked because we closed everything down.
His poor handling of the pandemic was not closing down everything soon enough, long enough.
That may have been necessary for health safety, but closing things sooner and for longer would have had an even larger impact the economy. Bottom line, there is nothing that could have protected the economy aside from ignoring the pandemic altogether.
