If I were to play the devil's advocate, I'd say nobody who experienced (legal) slavery by themselves is still alive today, since the last countries the abolish that did so 200 years ago, and nobody lives that long. Point #1 and #2 were part of WWII of which the last survivors are very old and won't live long anymore, but some ARE still alive. Injured veterans is even an actual problem. And Mesothelioma, mostly the result of exposure to asbestos is even still an actual problem. As a Dutch I might well ask the Spanish compensation for the horrors of the 80-years war.....
So from legal perspective, there's not much to be done to "repair", I'm afraid, and the comparisons make less sense that you may initially think. Of course recognition that (legal) slavery existed and must never be repeated can still be done, as it is a very nasty part of our history. Dates back from before Christ and existed a long time after that. And even now that slavery is no longer legal it still exists, but now it's done in an illegal manner.
Of course, this is playing the devil's advocate, I know. My point is rather that if you want to fight something bad, you need to be careful with comparing, since before you know it, you void your own points. Slavery is a big issue that befouls entire human history, and thus you can't be too careful when it comes to that.
