We've been having the biggest and longest sustained spur of economic growth since the end of WWII for over a decade now. In fact, that rate of growth has actually been slowing somewhat since Trump took over and, um, took credit for it all.
US business have been SUBSIDIZED by tax cuts and other incentives to move operations overseas, moves to curtail this economic killer have been squashed by Republicans in Congress who created them because, you know, Socialism doesn't always seem that bad when Americans pay to have factories built in ChinUH for American companies, Trump Inc included.
It also doesn't seem that bad when it pays for your roadways, police, fire depts, garbage pickup, water, electricity, oil, food, etc, etc. Oil is sold for half its worth here, and food is likewise kept cheaper so we can complain about being fat.
As for healtchcare, yes, universal care would be an expensive inefficient blunder, but it's not just those abroad who might come here on occasion for better treatment. Want quality care, you come to NY or CA. Basic care is sorely lacking in rural areas, and not many of them folks have the means to get to where they can get it. Incidentally, one plus of the ACA was to make attempts to get it out to them. That, of course, has also been curtailed under this Administration.
Bottom line is of you don't like Socialism then you can always try and unplug from it - from sidewalks to your nearest Walmart and the car and gas and highway you use to get there.
