For my next trick, I will explain a logical step often missed by conservatives.
You do realize that principles of free speech mean that you cannot compel anyone else to air your viewpoints, right? At least when it comes to private platforms, like television channels, periodicals, and indeed: websites!
ImgFlip, even!
That’s right: Platforms have free speech rights, too! Which means they get to say what they want and publish what they want.
And in practice, they exercise those rights to cater to their audience.
Indeed, that’s exactly what we see these days: ideological policing on platforms Left and Right. Why would Breitbart publish a guest column by Paul Krugman or Ta-Nehisi Coates? They wouldn’t.
But thanks to the internet, we have a zillion platforms in this day and age so anyone can find a way to get their word out, even if the word you are bringing is a desire to ethnically cleanse all black people from America (take your ass to Stormfront).
About the only person in the world who has to sit there and let you spout your hateful nonsense without objection is this poor schmuck who mans the C-SPAN call-in lines, because C-SPAN is publicly funded.
Even then, said poor schmuck would probably cut your phone line if you started shouting the N-word into the receiver, preferring to take his chances with a lawsuit brought by little old you rather than a civil rights lawsuit brought by the NAACP.
So, if you really want unfettered free speech rights, I suggest you make yourself rich enough to set up your own platform, where you can publish whatever the hell you want, subject as always to generally applicable civil and criminal law.
Hope this helps
