Makes perfect sense. This BLM bullshit isn't about slavery.

People need to understand that the slave trade/ownership was never exclusive to one race. Throughout history, all races bought, owned, and traded all other races. This included all indigenous people who enslaved captured warriors. Most ancient sites were built by slaves, where neither the builders nor the worker slaves were white.

You may say that these 'white colonialists' of theirs have entered the 'game' (int. slave trade) on the world stage late on. 1,500 years ago all of Europe was still rolling around in mud, while the rest of the world was operating on slave labor and reaping rewards for thousands of years. When Europeans entered the international market, it wasn't so much slave labor as advancements in science and technology that propelled west into dominating the world.

The imbecility of it’s all. I am offended and can’t function because 1000 years ago the Romans made slaves of the British who were my ancestors. I want the coliseum in Rome torn down!

You were never a slave and I was never a slave owner so f**k off. I owe you jack shit. I dont go to the police station and plead guilty to any crimes I have never committed and I am not liable for them in the eyes of god or the law. I don’t bow to queens or any other men and I don’t require it of them either. I am a free man and I will resist every attempt to dictate my life, Liberty, and pursuit of happiness based on some woke POS values.

Hahahahahahaha. So in other words, you have no proof. Just a video of some local Muslims who showed up for one of the many George Floyd protests which took place for about a week in NYC, including lots of white people and medical workers. It was not a BLM event. There were dozens of protests over those 2 weeks with over 100 people, several were in the thousands.

Well, he didn't speak out against it either, did he?

The closest he gets to anything about slavery is the Parable of the Unforgiving Slave (Servant in modern translations). He doesn't call the king in the story out for owning a slave (the ungrateful guy is a slave, not a servant). He says the slave was bad because he didn't forgive the other slave the debts.

he didn't say "hey, owning people is bad!" he said "you should let debts go."

Also. IF the entire bible is the Word of God, Paul's letters to the Ephesians. I mean. He straight up says "hey, Christians Slaves, you need to listen to your Christian Masters."

WTF?

Christ may not have ownes slaves, but he didn't do anything about it.

First of all, that parable was not about slaves, but about forgiveness. The man was forgiven for so much yet he didn’t forgive for so little.
Next thing is that slavery was commonplace for that time period and not necessarily seen as wrong at that time. And Paul didn’t say specifically obey your Christian masters, just your masters. The Bible teaches you that you should obey authority, and that fits the description.

But shouldn't Christ, being an aspect of God, be above "well, it was common back then" and say something about how wrong it is?

Because if all men are created equal is a universal and God-given truth, then it also has to be timeless. All men had to have been equal then, and slavery was just as wrong then as it is now.

And Christ didn't say anything about it.

In Ephesians 6:9, who do you think Paul is talking to? Just some generic masters? He's writing to the Christian slaves but non-Christian masters? No. Those are Christians who own the Christian slaves.

It is not "slave" in any translations. Quit making things up. The ungrateful servant is a debtor who had his debt forgiven, then did not forgive the debt of another person and threw that person into debtor's prison.

Oh, yes, it is. The New Testament was written in Greek. The Greek word for slave is doulos. It's only ever used for slave.

The Greek word for servant is ypirétis (there are variations for different types of servants). these words are not similar or related, so there's no textual confusion.

But doulos? It's only ever been slave.

Wanna guess what word is used in the text for the parable? It's δούλος (doulos or slave in English). For the "other servant" in the story the greek text uses σύνδουλόν (syndoulon or fellow slave).

The servant who gets his ear cut off in the Betrayal of Jesus? The one that Jesus touches and restores the ear? That guy? Yeah, he's not a servant. It's doulos again.

Slave.

Didn't say a word about how it was bad or anything.

And how does that make Jesus bad and Mohammed good. Are you implying not speaking against slavery is worse than actually having slaves?

You guys will try to rationalize anything with made up bullshit. What has any of that got to do with here and now. No slaves, can’t find any. Where are they? Please point out the slavery that exists here and now?

I imply that you shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

While, according to the text, Christ didn't own any slaves he was clearly okay with it. And Paul, a follower who was so important that his letters to other Christians actively encourages Christian Slaves to continue to obey their Christian Masters.

Of course that is accepting your Revisionist history 2020 SJW opinion. Let’s assume you are right, so this may mean that these were accepted practices 2000 years ago.

This is not revisionist. This is not an opinion. It is a fact.

They used the word for slave. Not servant. They meant slave.
