It’s sickening to watch!
It’s not happening locally for me, but I feel bad for those that have to live near it.
I think the crowd feels emboldened because no one is stopping them.
They’re not allowed! The police need the support and the permission to do their jobs.

I'm not sure I'd call watching people walk down the street with items they looted protesting.
But you are right if no one stops them they will do it again and again. Just look at New York and Chicago.
I also realize the police need support, but here with the most progressive city council the police don't do anything if they ever show up. I mean the front page story the other day was about the police ticketing people because they weren't wearing a face mask .It's all because the city thinks that if they can keep the crime numbers down they can create the illusion that it's safe here for the tourists.

It hasn't been that bad here compared to the Palm Springs where I think it was 122 the other day.
I'm not a fan of air conditioning but I have been using it here and there for short periods of time. And it won't last forever.
But thank you for your concern. I hope your days do nothing but get better. :)

I usually set it to 78 or 79 degrees. Just enough to take the edge off and reduce the humidity.

No freezing air conditioner for me.
I hope most of it will be over soon. We seem to be continuing to have mini heatwaves. But it hasn't been to bad here, only a few days over 80 degrees. Although the tropical storms have brought a lot of humidity this year, not my favorite.
I think nature is wonderful too. :)

It seems to be getting worse :-(
As far as the virus, since I last wrote to you I lost my Aunt to it.
She and her adult daughter got it at the same time, maybe because my cousin is a nurse?
My Aunt was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks, before asking to be taken off of a bipap machine, whatever that is.
Soon after she passed, my cousin had to be hospitalized for almost a week. Her blood oxygen level was low.
She is home now, but has a cough that could last two to three months!

And you're probably right if your cousin is a nurse.

I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
They are going to have the funeral this weekend, just the basics.
Then hopefully have a celebration of life ceremony in the Spring.
It’s a large Italian family, so I’m sure it will happen someday :-)

It seems a lot of celebration of life ceremonies are having to wait. Don't feel alone.:)

I only went to the Mass, but skipped the cemetery.
Not a large crowd and everyone kept their distance.
I imagine next year will be busy for lots of things, which would be nice after all this is over.

She truly is adorable.
I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but I was adopted too over the pandemic. A feral cat that I was feeding for a year or so, when the pandemic started, who knew I was feeding it but wouldn't give me the time of day. And since the places to eat were closed I started feeding it twice a day. Then it became more friendly after about four weeks, and I was able to get a flea collar on it. After that he would sit at night at my building's front door looking through the glass waiting for me, and I knew he had to come up. So Mr. Tuxedo has been with me ever since.
But again yours is so cute.

As I am writing this, she is on my chest, up by my chin ❤️
