Earlier this evening we got confirmation that the Russian bounty scandal was in Donald Trump’s daily briefing back in the spring of 2020, all but confirming that Trump was lying this weekend when he said he didn’t know about it. Now things have gotten even worse – much, much worse.

It turns out Donald Trump actually knew about it in the spring of 2019. The AP is reporting late tonight that John Bolton has told colleagues that he personally briefed Trump about the scandal roughly fifteen months ago, and that the sole purpose of the meeting was to brief Trump about it.

This confirms that Trump is lying about not having known about the scandal. It also means that he sat on his hands for more than a year and allowed Russia to pay terrorists to murder U.S. soldiers. This puts Trump deep into treason territory. It also potentially puts him on the hook for conspiracy to commit homicide.

This is the only scandal that this meme refers to. I have no clue why you brought up other shit we're not talking about.

Then Trump heard about it on the news and asked them about it. Turns out it was just some money in a hut with some pictures of US soldiers. Which could mean just about anything.
The Russians denied it:
“This unsophisticated plant clearly illustrates the low intellectual abilities of the propagandists of American intelligence, who instead of inventing something more plausible have to make up this nonsense,” the Russian foreign ministry said.
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, one of the few congressional leaders briefed on sensitive intelligence matters, told ABCs “This Week” that she had not been informed about the reported bounties and requested a report to Congress on the matter." So its likely no one was told.

Here’s the thing about Donald Trump’s Russian bounty scandal. It has a financial component, which means that all we have to do is follow the money in order to confirm it.

Now it turns out the money trail is very much real, and it helps prove that Trump knew about all it all along – and that he’s lying now.

U.S. intelligence officials discovered the Russian bounty plot when they encountered money transfers from the Kremlin to the Taliban that matched up with what prisoners had told them about the Kremlin plot to take out U.S. soldiers. This is according to a comprehensive new expose from the New York Times this afternoon. What stands out here is that with a specific money trail involved, there’s no possible way that that U.S. intel leaders wouldn’t have briefed Trump on this.

Donald Trump made a mistake by insisting that he didn’t know about this Russian bounty plot. It would have been bad enough that he knew about it and didn’t do anything; he’d have been stuck trying to argue that he was planning to take action but hadn’t taken yet it. But now that he’s been caught lying about having known, it proves bad faith intent on his part, and makes clear that he’s been actively trying to help Russia get away with these murders of U.S. soldiers.

But the fact is that an apparant trail, unless certified for what it is believed to be, is only that until further and irrefutable proof turns up.
And whether or not the case is proven, that is still not proof that Trump did know.

Not saying he didn't know (he has an acute ability to be gleefully blind when need be), but conjecture is not conviction, and that's the position his base is going to argue from.

The New York Times is reporting that Rahmatullah Azizi, a contractor in Afghanistan, has been handing out Kremlin cash to Taliban operatives who have killed U.S. soldiers. This one chilling sentence says it all: “Prizes of as much as $100,000 per killed soldier were offered for American and coalition targets.”

This is nothing short of a smoking gun. It proves that Vladimir Putin really has been paying the Taliban to murder U.S. soldiers. It also makes clear that this is the kind of substantive plot that the U.S. intelligence community would absolutely have made a point of telling Donald Trump about – which means he’s lying when he says he was never briefed about it. Trump is now proven complicit in a deadly terrorist plot against the United States.
