"We put no stock in polls"
I've heard this line before. Not only in the U.S. And not only said by conservative parties. It's typical how all parties with good numbers in the polls love to refer to them all the time, and all parties doing bad in the polls will say "the only true poll is in the voting booth". Typical! However going as far as saying "fake news"... Now now even Fox being "Fake news"... How come I am tempted more and more to believe "fake news" only?

Maybe you would like to explain this, then?

I wonder.... Did they really give away their password like Roddy claims?

No clue. Since the profile is deleted, I can't browse it to find anything.

Good point. It would be pretty stupid if that were true, though....
Of course, if it were true, I guess it's not up to a non-moderator to delete an account even though having the password enables them to... But if you give away your password you're also technically asking for trouble... :-/

My reasoning is that if he’s confessing to what is already a really awful thing to do, it’s most likely the truth and I personally think punishment is necessary. I think what he did certainly warrants another account deletion.

You speak of Roddy if you speak of account deletion, right? (Just making sure I understand this properly). Of course, I cannot confirm if the claim is a bluff or an actual confession. A confession alone is not solid evidence after all (people have in court confessed murders they never committed, just to compare to the extreme). If Roddy's action can indeed be proven then I agree...

Isnt account security on the user? How do you know i really got into her account? Another account deletion? When others do way worse things. And you still giving me account deletions again?

Isnt Banning somebody the only punishment you can do? Ever heard of *chewing them out?

In those cases where wrongful confessions occur, they are generally coerced out of the person through interrogation or similar means. This is not the case with Roddy. Nobody coerced anything out of him. He has been gleeful about what he admits he’s done. Even a few days ago when he knows mods are aware of what he said, he was still boasting about deleting pinkeloving’s account.

Account deletion is the most drastic step a Mod can take. I think you need to show a consistent pattern of flagrant violations of TOS to support that action.

It would be beneficial to everyone to see a list of conduct explicitly written out in the TOS that would potentially subject a memer to account deletion. Stuff like repeated threats of violence/hate crimes, sexually harassing minors, etc. (just two totally randomly-generated examples)

This all seems rather uncharacteristic of Roddy, who has 127 followers and generally contributes great content and helps build the ImgFlip community.

In this situation, a reprimand is warranted and, max, an account suspension (if that feature on ImgFlip existed).

But deleting the whole account of a memer with 100+ followers simply for taking advantage of someone who compromised their own account by giving out their password -- as it is claimed, and you admit you don't have evidence to dispute that -- doesn't seem like fitting punishment.

How often do you actually interact with your pal Roddy? Because he has consistently violated TOS as both Killer killed karma and Roddy Ricch. I have to browse what he comments constantly because of all the complaints I get about his behavior. Can you say the same?

TOS violations are still TOS violations no matter how big you are. It doesn’t matter as far as I’m concerned whether you’re Noobmaster64 with a couple hundred points or Raydog with over 20 million. You are not above the rules just because you have a lot of points.

Smh, You know how many people do way worse things then me, and you are just heading for me?

I’ve seen Roddy in fights with other memers with insult-trading going both ways. This takes place across the whole site. It’s difficult to Mod that kind of a situation sensibly.

For what it’s worth, I’ve told both Roddy and his opponent to cool it when I have seen that.

I haven’t seen Roddy ganging up on people unprovoked, and in fact I saw him standing up to an entire gang of bullies on the Everyone’s_A_Mod stream harassing a memer behind their back.

An action for which he was unmodded in retaliation from a stream where everyone should be a Mod if they want to be, by its own definition.

Perhaps you heard of that?

Perhaps you were even a part of that?

They did although Pinkeloving claims it was a hacker who did it yet her account was never hacked, and she has been contradicting herself.

Yeah, as long as Pinkloving is convinced it was a hacker, it's a bit of a harder case.
It looks like an odd case to me.

Anyway, I just thought it was dumb so I couldn’t take the stupidity anymore, I almost left for good because of the hacker crap.
1 up, 4y
I can understand that. Point is also that it's a bit odd to me the entire case has been brought up in the comments of a political meme totally unrelated to this entire thing.

Doesn’t strike me as nice, but account security is on them — or however you put it

Anywho thanks for doing your part to contain harassment and cyberbullying on ImgFlip

Thanks to your efforts, we’ve gotten to the point that toxic hate on this site basically doesn’t exist

Awesome chunk of hypocrisy you got there.
Of course, not that you would be cheering Roddy on in any manner, and not for proxy purposes either, huh?
