I admire and respect that. Both the racial and financial elements of what you're saying.
To politicize it, I've never met a conservative that gave a rat's rear what color a person is. To a person, they've always cared entirely about character. Libs, on the other hand? Yes, almost every one of them cared. Sure, it was usually within the context of wanting to do the right thing (or lately, bashing repubs and conservatives) but ultimately that motivation only leads to what we see today with all the problems in minority communities. Typical of liberals, imo, is that their hearts are in the right place, but that seems to screw up what their heads should be telling them about fixing problems with real life solutions.
Regarding the financial, I had a conversation a while back with someone about expensive new cars (we were talking about Corvettes) and they said they'd never be able to afford one. I told that person about the old saying, that goes whether they believe they'll be able to afford that Corvette or not, they were 100% correct. Financial health is a decision and following through with determination. I know this first hand because I was also poor growing up, and well into my adult years. Only when I stopped trying to blame others, and quit feeling sorry for myself, was I able to do anything about that.
Yes, some will have it harder than others due to their circumstance. But unless you're mentally unable, anyone in the US who wants to improve their lot in life (financially) is able to do so. The US is the greatest land of opportunity this planet has ever known, and it's because of our freedom. That same freedom, which sadly is currently under assault.
