"Lots of gay people are also Christians. When you say 'God says it's a sin', do you mean that men wrote down a long time ago that a man said that God had told him it was a sin?
Is that really a good reason to not accept people?"
Yes, there are people who consider themselves Christians. That doesn't negate the fact that God considers it a sin. I had sex outside of marriage, with multiple people. I was living in sin. Just because I did that and considered myself a Christian, doesn't mean I was free from the sin I committed.
"We are people, we are adaptable, we can think critically.
Do you follow absolutely everything it says in the Bible or do you use your judgement and ability to think critically to make choices about what to follow?"
We are all sinners, so we cannot follow perfectly in compliance with the Bible, but we can do the best we can with God's help. As long as we follow Christ and do what we can to keep away from sin.
"Belief is a choice. You are choosing to have a problem with people who are doing nothing other than being authentic to themselves and being happy."
I don't have a problem with it. Like I said, whatever two consenting adults do with each other, I don't care. I know it to be a sin as God has told us, but what they do is between them and God. I'm not sure how many times I have to state this.
"It's funny, liberals are often accused of not thinking critically but are also statistically more likely not to be the people taking their guidance from an ancient book written for living in a different place during different times. You know that there are almost no white people in it?"
I understand what you're getting at at the beginning of that paragraph, but you kind of lost me on the last part. Yes, the Bible is an old book. It was written by many different men based on what God told them to write. The author of the Bible is ultimately God Himself, written through man.
As for there not being a lot of white people in it, I'm not understanding what the purpose of that statement was. Are you suggesting I wouldn't want to follow a book that is full of no white people? I'm confused. And there were many cultures represented in the Bible. Cultures that have or had many different people with different skin color. Again, I'm not really sure what you're getting at with that statement. Sorry.
