78% of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in 1964. 82% of Republicans supported it. So, it's true that democrats are still racist. Thank you for pointing that out.

It's really not. It's about people viewing people.

Then a lot of people who claim to be republicans need to realize they're democrats. This still has nothing to do with political parties; it is a humanity issue that supersedes politics.

Sure, but the parties did switch and that info is basically accurate. If you care enough to be in the internet talking the way you do, look up party switching in the US. Or don't. But it doesn't hurt to learn something new.

And this is why the Democrats today support BLM all over social media and the right are indignant and retaliate with white lives and all lives matter. Your statement is outdated. The parties flipped.

Why would I try? Online politics don't end with someone changing their mind. Sounds like you tried to read it, so points for you.

Then here. From the house of representatives webpage. This is as good a source as you'll find.

Cheers!

I started to, honestly, but the NY times requires a subscription. I stopped there, did another search, found a Reddit link on this subject, and this HoR link was in their write-up. Seriously, why look elsewhere? This is literally the source. And it absolutely described the different times the parties flipped. It's good stuff.

I'm willing to bet you and I could hang out and be great friends. Online presence is off the wall. Anyway, I appreciate you sticking with it and pushing me to try harder. The HoR link is a very interesting read. I used to hate history!

Take care.

Skip the articles and examine the sources.
A quick search on the first one provided reveals it's from Newstalk1130, a radio station (strap yourself in for some scholarly tomes there) owned by iHeart Radio, which also carries Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck talk programs and makes Fox look positively moderate.

Of course there was a 'switch' - you can see the results right on this page.
But it wasn't overnight, with the switch being more in terms of voting in Federal elections while remaining with the original parties for local. Final stages of the switch occurred during the Reagan era when changing party affiliation instead of only voting patterns became a thing.

That's why Public Enemy put out all those albums about how well blacks are treated in America, right up until the 2010s. Right.

Obama was allowed to be president, so that there would not have been a race war during his term of terrible policy making. Coming off Bush, if another white dude kept it up, it would have irrupted. But, he was allowed to tell black people in, say, Ferguson to chill, because, his dad's black.

Yes, yes. The president is elected by the people, there are no puppet masters, correct, sleep well little one, your government is your friend.

There was a point to reposting this post. Like art, there are many takes on it. It's simply meant to point out that any law has it's opposition. Once law, you haven't changed anyone's minds, but usually protected or helped a group of people... Or bettered something. Hopefully. The two subjects being compared aren't necessarily related (but I'm sure conclusions will be made). The talk of parties is fine, but not as relevant to the point that racism most definitely exists. Breathe everyone. And check your emotions before you hit send.

I've never seen so many deletions after a political election. Wish I took screenshots...
