Why does everyone think harry potter is suuuuper childish?

Blame the editor.... They presented and marketed the work as children's literature.... Even though the stories are a lot more mature than that.

Yeah my one of my friends who on the scale of fans is a dursley says she hates HP because it's too babyish. There is freaky stuff in HP. XD
