Third) I din't say cheap immigrant labor was good. I said the American agricultural system depends on it. The work is backbreaking and hot. You literally can't pay Americans enough to do it. The only people willing to do the work are immigrants from Mexico and further south.

Hmmm, don't entirely disagree. However, there was a time actual Americans did that work. And with so many out of work, a decent wage would probably entice many. I worked on a farm as a teen. It's not impossible. But things are screwed up because both parties and their donors profit off it.

Americans won't even stock shelves, work in restaurants, do anything that might require anything more strenuous than sitting in a cublicle all day - of which, btw, it is estimated they spend 80% of that paid time goofing around online on social media, games, porn... anything work unrelated.

They tried hiring American citizens in Georgia to work in farms at a decent wage a couple of years ago. I forget the exact number, but only a few of the hundreds (or was it thousands?) that called to apply showed up, and after a couple of months, only 2 hadn't quit.

Even established businesses - come to any Italian restaurant or pizzeria of which there are a ton of here. The cooks are all Mexican, as are the waiters, dishwashers, busboys... When sold because Joey don't wanna takeover grandpa's business because he's gonna work on Wall Street one day, the new owners are Mexican or Albanian. All the new pizzerias are opened by Albanians.

Americans didn't become fat and lazy because illegals stole their jobs, it's the reverse. Because of Corona, migrant workers either were restricted from crossing state lines to work on farms or didn't want to risk getting sick because there are no safety measures to protect them. We're facing a food shortage in the future, and that means ALL of Planet Welfare. Even before this, since Trump got elected, farms had produce rotting because no Americans wanted the job.
Illegals are hired because no one from here wants to it and to keep food cheap so we can be fat.

In Nevada and other States, Somali's are bussed in from other States to work meat packing plants for $15p/hr becaause Americans don't want to work in them - and that was at the height of the previous recession.
