In the United States, use of deadly force by police has been a high-profile and contentious issue.[1] In 2019, 1,004 people were shot and killed by police according to the Washington Post, whereas the "Mapping Police Violence" project counted 1,098 killed, of which 24% were black people (despite them making up just 13% of the overall population).[2][3][4]
Police killings are one of the leading causes of death for young men in the United States.[5] 1 in 2,000 men and 1 in 33,000 women die as result of police use of deadly force.[5] The risk is highest for black men, as approximately 1 in 1,000 black men can expect to be killed by police.[5]
It is a shame that ImgFlip lacks highlight and other tools to point out fallacies.
I have been googling for about an hour and there is no complete data on those killed by police, because all States do not report it to the FBI.
So, we get anti police authors that skew the available info one way ad pro police authors that skew it in the other direction.
If you look at the Wiki second paragraph you mat notice that if every person killed by police was a black male that there would only be 1,098,000 black men living in America.
There are actually over 37 million non Hispanic blacks of which I would suppose that at keast a third are late teen to adult men.
It is wrong to murder anyone. Justifiable homicide is legal for you as well as police officers.
