Checker burgers are smaller. There's this bacon double something whatevs that looks like one big mofo but ain't.

Yup, in the way back when the kid's size soda was like 8oz or something.
Interesting, the burgers shrink while the drinks grow.

FUN FACT: Fast food joints make super giant size burgers for the ads, like a foot or something wide. Thus they can get prettier, more detailed pictures.
1 up, 5y
Yes, sugary drink mix is cheap to make. Those super sized bastards probably have the highest profit margin of any menu item.

I remember ordering a Whopper from Murder King when I was like 10. Asked for extra mayo. Perhaps along with extra lettuce and onions. Maybe that revelation was later. Some yuppie f**k scoffed at my request in line. Mayooooo? Patrick Bateman type. Pretty sure I sneered at him and uttered a go f**k yourself under my breath.

Checkers is great.

Since my ma started ailing and after I moved back we've subsisted mainly on bought prepared food. Last year or so my father took to buying Burger King on the way home from work twice a week. We grew up begging for that & McD's but rarely having it. I've eaten more of that shit in a few months than I have in my entire life before.
He says the one he was going to closed because of Corona, and McD's and whatnot have long lines of cars waiting, so that was the end of that 2 months ago.
The thought of BK's still now gets me antsy, as having it once every couple of months is waaaaaaay better than a couple of times a week. haha

"How many southern republicans do you think are racist? 100%? 99%? 75%?"

I'm going to go with about 80%. No, seriously. I live here. And this isn't even Alabama or Mississippi. Not all of them are extremists.

Most of my friends are over 60... but and many have taken steps to overcome their prejudices.

That doesn't mean they don't occasionally act on them. Not all of them. And a few of them know my personal circumstances and don't bother arguing about why I'm not a fan of detention camps of any kind. Any kind. No matter how justified it might have been at the time. So, they may give me some space. But, like you Sydney, they seem to test me. About my position on guns, when they know full well I got an arsenal. And about my positions on free speech and whether hate speech should be censored. The answer is always no.Now, I don't put them through these kind of tests because I love and accept them as they are.

And I've lost some friends who don't speak to me because they can't take my guff at poor Donald. But it's no skin off my nose. I got a great family and while some of them vote Democrat, they know full well that politics are not a reason to get upset over shit. That said, the one thing we do agree on is that Donald Trump is full of shit and doesn't know what the f**k he's doing.

I don't think any of my friends who support Donald Trump would actually hurt anyone nor are they capable of hurting anyone. They'd defend themselves, sure. But they wouldn't openly antagonize someone just for having a different political opinion. And they don't trust the f**king police either. Which is hilarious because one of them actually has a son who is a deputy. Perhaps because of the stories he has to tell. The story being, if they're not good enough for the military, then they show up there. And if they're not good enough for the police, they end up being local security. Not that that always happens, but that seems to be the gist. There is always some overlap. Retired military entering the force and such. Still, I think most of them wouldn't do something stupid like call them up just because some black or Mexican person was "annoying them"

And that is the crux of their support for Donald Trump. The fear of Mexicans and Muslims. Something prejudiced black and white people share a fear of. And I don't much care for a man playing on the prejudices of the people.

It's incredibly hard to argue that. I stand by that officially the Democratic party, as a whole, are not responsible for the creation of the KKK. Though, to ignore that they had no part in their creation is, unfortunately, not entirely accurate.

So my parents' (who are elderly) membership (they got their mail in ballots for the primary last week) is bogus? Cuz the KKK would have used their asses for marshmellow toasting.

They had ZERO to do with it's formation. Just because it was the dominant party in the area where the KKK sprouted from (the former Confederate South) doesn't mean they all owned BBQ joints either.
There were plenty of Democrats 150 years ago and later who were NOT racist, southern, former Confederate, Teutonic, and Protestant. Heck, the first 'black' Congressmen were from what party? Did the DNC not notice?
1 up, 5y,
1 reply
You misunderstand me.

I'm saying that members of the Democratic party helped create the Klan. That doesn't mean their influence continued beyond 100 years... if even 50 years later... or less. It certainly came to an end when Democrats picked up the torch of the Civil Rights movement.

I'm not saying all Democrats helped in the creation. Nor am I saying that the party itself commissioned it. I'm merely saying there is history. Keyword, history. That doesn't mean those sentiments exist today.

Politicians, nowadays, are usually not as forthright in their prejudices. There are some exceptions of course. Most of them Republican.
1 up, 5y
So individuals who just so happened to have been registered as Democrats?

They were also all Protestants of British ancestry who lived in the South, that doesn't mean Protestants of British ancestry who lived in the South as a whole are responsible for creating them.

Further, not all (if any) of them were members of the Democrat Party, given that the Confederacy didn't have any and this was not too long after that ended.

Pretty sure this would be all over the usual Alt Right outlets & Fox constantly, even today.

I tried different combos one day months ago after you had mentioned many a time that ALL Colbert's scripts had to be approved by the DNC in 2016.

The article you linked was about TWO epsiodes of his PREVIOUS show THREE years PRIOR to 2016 which were made at the suggestion of CGI. I don't recall the DNC even being mentioned (I'm not reading it again).

Plus it's ludicrous suggestion that he was a propaganda outlet for the Clintons... oh.... wait.... the Colbert Report was satire. So maybe it came across that way for these humorless dolts or 'interpreting' it in a literally manner would have suited their bogus narrative.
3 ups, 5y
Yeah, I have been babbling about it for awhile :D

But remember, and please really hear me.

The wikileaks dump was what Fredo Coumo on CNN said WAS ILLEGAL TO POSSESS, execpt for them, of course.

Illegal to possess.

Hey look, the Colbert Report was funny. Even though it was Jon Stewart approved anti Republican propaganda, it hit some marks.

But this constant Orange Man Bad routine that would make Goebbels blush over the last 4 years, I doubt he ever uttered a single positive statement about Trump, besides perhaps bombing Syria. He chastised his audience for applauding Trump for firing Comey, after he had been railing against Comey since he 'betrayed' Hillary.

You really doubt Colbert was a propaganda arm? How did Carson deal with politics? Did he go for laughs, or sanctimonious applause?

Can't remember SNL ever doing a weepy rendition of 'Hallelujah' and turning to the audience and saying 'I'm not giving up and neither should you. LIVE FROM NY IT'S SNL' after any other candidate lost.

Like Jimmy Dore said in the hilarious TYT election night meltdown 'With everyone on her side! With EVERYONE trying to help her. Republicans were coming out of the woodwork to defend her. Jay-Z, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen. Everybody. Every frickin' tv comedian. Everyone was on her side. Everybody. Even guys like Michael Moore. And she still lost to this guy. What does that tell you?'

Just because Maher craps on muslims, and all religion, and says the odd based thing every 9 months doesn't mean he's not a leftist. O'Brien did hold off for awhile but now he's fallen in line, like Fallon. Remember when Fallon had Trump on and tussled his hair? He got slammed for 'humanizing' Trump.

Wikileaks: Colbert Report took orders from Clinton group
Wikileaks: Colbert took orders from Clinton group
By Ryan Girdusky
December 6, 2016 - 10:34 AM

Stephen Colbert's role as the conservative newsman on the Comedy Central hit show, The Colbert Report, was a prime source of news for many millennials. It was also a chief avenue of propaganda for the Clintons years before Hillary ran for president.

Wikileaks revealed on Tuesday that Colbert and his team at Comedy Central were making episodes at the request or order of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) back in April of 2013.

Craig Minassian of the Clinton group e-mailed John Podesta, the close ally and future campaign manager for Hillary, to see if he saw a specific episode of the show that they pitched.

"I hope you got a chance to see the The Colbert Report's two special episodes I had them do about CGI U that we taped in St. Louis this weekend," Minassian said in the e-mail. "This is the link to last nights with a sketch about commitments and the monologue and WJC (Bill Clinton) interview aired Monday. Hope you enjoy and looking forward to your feedback. Next will be your Colbert appearance!"

Colbert was always very obviously liberal and supportive of Hillary throughout the election, but no one knew his team was doing her and Bill's PR work at their order."

Oh wow, 2 special episodes they asked to do about the CGI? THAT'S the DNC having to approve every single Colbert script in 2016? Oh, wait, the story says 2013 for a show that was no longer on in 2016? Alex Jones wuld be emabrrassed to state something like that.
Just kidding, no, he wouldn't.

And that bit about Colbert's devotion to the Clintons throughout the years? Guess I missed that episode because the Clintons have been comedy fodder since 1988 in the planetary system I reside in by, like, everybody. Except for that self-adulating pussbag, Arsenio Hall.
2 ups, 5y
I literally said it was regarding an older issue. But let me tell you, the difference of what you could pull up with exact key words is much different than even a year ago on google. Alot of stuff has been 1984'd.

And I never claimed it was every episode. As far as I remember it was a email stating that that episode during the election race, was good to go. Extrapolate as you like.

Who cares what Cuomo said? What does he have to do with this?

Wikileaks was made by that cringey Aussie rapist that was hiding out in Ecuador? The one EVERYONE hated except Antifa and other Fawkes wannabe types till Trump embraced him then pretended he never said what he said about how he loves it because we all know he's a senile retard and the only ones that believe him are Democrats yadda yadda doesn't these childish musical chairs 1984-ism get boring after a while and frig I just realized I missed half of Zombieland on AMC because I had on MSNBC talking about Dictator Donny going to occupy America with HIS Army and shit we had a nice run but Hugo Chavez here we come the newest Third World country have some fun.

Now STEWART had to approve Colbert's scipts as well? The DNC, the CGI, now him? Did the show even bother with producers?

Trump got as many votes as Romney did in 2012. Hillary lost to Hillary. TWICE. No one liked her except them 3 teary college girls on election night and possibly one ot two others.

The only reason Bill won TWICE is because the GOP turned on their own TWICE because back stabbing is what they do (I voted Bush Sr twice and Dole).

It points to the sheer panic of the establishment. Wikileaks has never been proven to release bullshit. My memory notwithstanding.

Wikileaks wasn't made.

No, I never said Stewart had to approve it but it was a spin off of the daily show, like Bee and Wilmore. Stewart produced it, I believe. Think he didn't have a say? Dude, just look at it! Every single late night host, Kimmel, Colbert, Fallon, Meyers, O'Brien, Corden, Wilmore, Lilly hahaha Singh, Trevor Noah (he still alive?), Bill Maher, John Oliver, Andy Cohen, are hardcore leftists. John Wilkes-Booth was not a Democrat. The closest to political affiliation he had was with the Know Nothing Party... back when we had third parties and those disillusioned with the two popular parties actually had another option. Booth was an open Confederate sympathizer during the war. A supporter of slavery, Booth believed that Lincoln was determined to overthrow the Constitution and to destroy his beloved South. That hardly makes him a Democrat. By today's standards, that would make him a constitutional conservative.

Except I deny the narrative that Republicans are racist too. At least, those who are not Southern Republicans.

You can vote Democrat or Republican still be racist. Racism is not an exclusively political tool for either side.

Just look at Joe Biden's gaffe. Now it's politically flipped. "Democrats don't think you're black if you vote Republican, so prove them wrong by voting Republican."

It's the same bullshit just taken a step further. Politicians always promise more than what they can give. Sometimes they give it, sometimes they don't. The whole reason Democrats oppose Trump's wall, and Republicans opposed Obama's healthcare was political. Not based on racism. If they can stop his main objective that the average voter can testify as a "promise kept" then they can damage their chance of re-election.

There is still racism in the south. It's not hard to find. Do you live in the south?

Um, video says that the Democrats have fought against every civil right's initiative since 1829. That was true until the 1960s when the civil right's act passed congress with a Democrat majority.

The original House version:

Democratic Party: 152–96 (61–39%)
Republican Party: 138–34 (80–20%)

The Senate version:

Democratic Party: 46–21 (69–31%)
Republican Party: 27–6 (82–18%)

The Senate version, voted on by the House:

Democratic Party: 153–91 (63–37%)
Republican Party: 136–35 (80–20%)

But maybe she hasn't gotten to that point yet... I'll watch the ENTIRE video and see if it's more propaganda and less revisionist history. Shall I?
1 up, 5y,

Look further into it to find out where the nays came from (HINT: Rhymes with "Southern States")
1 up, 5y
Exactly. The southern states are where most political racism existed. And do southern states still vote Democrat? No.

So, that either means that Republicans are now the party of the KKK.

Or, the south has completely gotten over it's political racism.

Personally, I'd argue a bit of both. It is not enitrely eradicated and not all Republicans support the KKK. (And I don't mean just openly.)

I am in the south. You can see people still do not view black people as humans. Heck, all you have to do is roam the comments of YouTube, Reddit, and 4Chan. It's not hard to find these edgelord young racists... and they didn't spring up from no where.
