People can say anything they want.

People can use one lie as a way to promulgate another lie, as was the case with fake Steele dossier being used as a basis to believe the Russian conspiracy hoax.

And to the specific issue, if there were credible evidence of Trump doing what you say he did, wouldn't the media be all over that story?

Keep in mind, this is the same media that's willing to make up lies about him and report them as truth. Why would they hesitate for even one instant to run with a story that would absolutely take him down?
