When I was in fourth grade I used to sign my name as RoryPig and people called me that so it basically just stuck

i saw a meme when i had my old account.

I'm an electrical engineer, had a few drinks the night I made my account so I thought it'd be hilarious to add a lisp to "Sparky"...

I don't know mine much. Back in late 2015 when I joined, I was really only looking for some meme site and Imgflip was the first to pop up. I guess I just wanted to try making a meme once so I just went with a really simple, pretty weird username. The "2.0" now is just that this is my new account since I deleted in February 2017. This same account was originally a joke account named "Aiiens" but the first "i" was capitalized as "Aliens". I'd have the persona of an Alien on this account, and if you happen to see old memes and old comments from me 3-4 years ago, you'll see some there's some stupid comments and memes which is the only thing I don't like about using this same account as MemesterMemesterson. I'd pop in every so often for 3 years, and came back active for an Aliens Week in 2018 with clinkster. Then they changed the font of the "i" so it didn't look like Aliens anymore, then I changed it to A-L-I-E-N-S or something, then A1IENS, and then now that I've actually returned to the site, I'm back as MemesterMemesterson2.0 just so the few old users know who I am.

I was originally madcowpanzer which was a user name I made years ago from an online game. I decided I didn't like it so I changed it to ScarTheLionKing since Scar was my role in a school play before it got canceled. I thought it was cheesy and I had started talking like a pirate because of Ememeon, so I changed it to Captain_Scar cause it sounds cool.

Mine comes from my video game accounts...I always named them "Dankinator", unless someone already used it. I was (still am too) a pothead. But a highly functioning pothead.

One day, I went to watch my friend at a competition, and his group's team name was "The Pro Noobs". I then decided that it seemed cool, so I decided to make it my username, with a few minor changes.

I ate it.

I'ma start using that excuse whenever I accidentally leave out a letter when I'm writing lol.

I'm a huge LOTR nerd, and there is a character in The Book of Lost Tales named Ælfwine. But IMGFlip requires that usernames be alphanumeric, so I modified the name slightly to be Aelfwine. Also, Ælfwine means Elf-friend in Anglo-saxon, so that's a bonus.

I just happen to like the number 347. Unfortunately, 5 years ago when I first started here, I accidentally typed 437, so I was ecstatic when ImgFlip gave me the opportunity to change my name. That's when I corrected it

Over 100 million people in China on lockdown from this 2nd wave...

How about Sweden? They're just allowing their citizens to die with impunity just so they don't tank their economy! What good is saving your economy if there's hardly anyone alive to enjoy it?

Yeah, they are employing an interesting strategy...I'm not gonna say it's right or wrong. I think there is some validity in saying that the damage an economy can suffer from shutting down can far exceed the damage done if there is no shutdown. It is not just a talking point when people talk about depression and suicide stemming from shutting down an economy. So far, they have had 3831 deaths attributed to COVID-19. That's out of 10,230,000 people. That's .03% of the population.

I was among the most paranoid/scared people in the world when this first hit the U.S. and I was on vacation in Las Vegas and Phoenix. I'm also pretty confident I had COVID-19. I had every single symptom they've mentioned, including loss of taste and loss of smell. The cough I had was excruciatingly painful because my throat and chest were so incredibly sore. I had a 103 degree fever for three days and felt like I could not possibly get any sicker. It was awful.

Anyhow, I don't think that even the best virologists know for certain a lot about this virus and the disease it causes. Everything we hear is speculation at this point, and this is proven every day when some new study comes out that directly contradicts one that came out the day before. It's just insanity. No one knows anything!

The fact that no one knows anything is further reason why the lockdowns should have been implemented, and the restrictions should be lifted gradually as has been done in most States, including my own Rhode Island

Yes, I think the original lockdown measures were appropriate. I think that some of the Governors are now making bad decisions. For example, Tony Evers of WI wanted to extend his "safer-at-home" order again...he had this extensive plan for reopening extremely slowly and it simply was unrealistic and just terrible invasion of peoples' rights. I agree that lockdowns should be gradually lifted. That's how it's going here in WI. I still cannot get a haircut or massage. Restaurants are slowly reopening, albeit with social distancing measures in place. There are many businesses that cannot stay afloat if they have to severely pare back the number of customers that can be in their establishment at any given time. There will come a point where we will have to decide if we want to live our lives like we did pre-COVID-19 or something different. I think an overwhelming majority will choose to revert back to our old way of life, even if it means we will take a risk that more people will die.

Seriously? Is this a joke? Everyone that is responsible for reporting "scientific" findings is guilty of reckless speculation. All to have the headline of the day. These organizations are clearly poorly-run. I don't think we should be fuding them anymore. We can set up something better than WHO and/or CDC. They have proven themselves inept in the time when they were most needed. Sure, there are brilliant people working for these organizations, but something about their structures and their rules of engagement with the press is messed up. They are so reckless with the information you disseminate that it is comical.
