In reality, the science is never settled

This is true, but you have to back up why your science is better with actual facts.

You may find one study that is contrary to hundreds or thousands... that doesn't make the one study that's different right or just as valid as the others. Proof takes time. You cannot simply make up your mind and choose the option you think makes most sense despite the evidence. Otherwise, you're playing right into confirmation bias. The bane of all scientists.
