I know y’all love to paint Fauci as a big-government Leftist, but he’s a Trump official and has been this entire crisis.

He has been consistently more on-the-ball than Trump himself, but no, he’s not above criticism.

And making him a fall guy over these comments or his more recent blunt warnings about re-opening too early during his Senate testimony, as may happen sooner or later, is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for the Trump Administration.

The interesting thing to find out will be how much Fauci’s early comments downplaying the threat were influenced by the same people-pleasing mindset that everyone in Trump’s inner circle has to stoop to in order to hold Trump’s confidence and attention.
