The politics stream isn't really any better and I think is typically worse. A lot of people on both sides are angry right now, and that gets reflected in the memes that usually hit the front page of both streams. But I get where you're coming from. Democrats (and frankly Republicans too) need to offer a positive vision for the country. Our inability to do so is part of how we all lost our way.

I'd suggest you check out this new stream on ImgFlip founded to promote civil, nonpartisan political discussion and which I recently became a moderator of:

I've been posting memes to the stream for a few weeks -- I (typically) stay away from the overt anti-Trump angle, although occasionally that does happen, because he is the President and often does deserve to be criticized.

There are some other political streams, but I haven't found any that are as active as these three.

Outside of politics, I'd also suggest you check out imgflip.com/m/Peace_On_Imgflip and the many other positivity-oriented streams. I can provide more links if desired.

Oh, you’ll find memes in “politics” calling Michelle Obama a transsexual Sasquatch, floating Killary conspiracies, ridiculing young girls for speaking up about the environment, and spreading viral disinformation about coronavirus that could kill people.

And that’s not even getting to the comments sections

Yeah: We dislike Trump over here in PoliticsTOO but “politics” is worse, a lot worse.

we insult people all the time and guess who they then vote for
i myself the other day was constructively correcting someone young here on how government works
he proceeded to call me not pc names trumptard etc
he was getting his ass handed to him in a debate because he was way off on state procedure

he was not the only one
we are supposed to be better than them
if insults are all we have we look bad as them

You don't get it, Mitch is the mainstream of the Republican Party. Yeah, Democrats should continue to play as fair as possible and be above this kind of thing, I am not advocating that they play dirty, I am only advocating that they be tough. Being tough also means not backing down when it comes to pointing out what the other side is up to, honestly and with evidence, but any kind of genteel avoiding saying what is obviously true so as not to offend is why they eat our lunch all the time.
