DNA degrades as it replicates, which is probably the cause of aging. Clone animals don't live as long as the animal they were cloned from.

Interesting, I didn't know that about DNA

Depends on what you use the cloning technology for and how efficient it is. If you’re cloning animals like the dodo and the mammoth to undo the extinctions we’ve inflicted over the years, I think it would be a worthwhile goal to bring them back. Cloning humans however gets a lot trickier though. There are some scenarios where I can see human clones being a good thing like as companions or partners if you catch my drift. That would in my opinion completely solve situations like the incel epidemic in Western countries or the aftermath of the One Child policy in China where there’s way more males than females. Using clones as an army like they did in the Star Wars prequels however I think is a bit inhumane. I don’t really like war period, but I think if war has to be done, use droids like the Separatists did.

I am not fully sure if bringing back animals that are instinct, even done so by human actions, would repair the damage we've done. After all, nature has the nice ability to adept to new situations. So the disappearance of the dodo, could be taken up in a different matter, and if we're then to recover the dodo, I deem it very well possible the dodo could then do more harm than good, as nature may no longer take a place for the dodo into account. I think that if it were about bringing back extinct animals we should really keep well in mind what those animals would do if they lived today. Humans already caused a lot of damage by bringing animals to places they don't belong, after all. Perhaps with species that have gone extinct more recently, this may not be so harmful.

The idea sounds wonderful, but there's always a flip side of the coin. Scientists who think they can bring these creatures back, should take that in mind.

Morally, cloning shouldn't even ever exist. Saying that you should clone animals just because they don't have personalities brings a question. Does that count as animal abuse? Will there ever be laws about it in the future?
Also cloning humans- no. That would just mess up the family and the lives and it would be a huge mess.

Animals would probably be less damaging. They don't have as much of a personality as a human. A Human clone could screw up stuff with the original's family/friends and the original would be taking all the blame for it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, and I have more reasons against human cloning too

Yeah I don't think it should exist either way.

I am not fond of the idea... I definitely don't wanna meet a clone of myself. I think I'd punch him! When it comes to animals. I know it already happens with animals, and I'm not sure if that is more ethic than with humans or not.

It's not exactly what the movie's about, but if you've seen the movie Oblivion, you know that cloning is very troublemaking.
