Hah.

Realistically, we would have still had some deaths. But tens of thousands of lives would be saved and we'd be on a better trajectory now.

Or maybe not: Because sadly, if a Democrat were President, the conservative resistance to all these necessary measures and social spending would have been even more potent.

No, we don't need to continue to recycle the Conservative Party pro-Thatcher propaganda. It's time to be retired. It was used for Thatcher, Reagan, and W. Bush.

Yeah, the GOP has been going off the rails for awhile. Trump isn't the first, and we can predict he won't be the last.

However, a Republican Party that recognized the achievements of this man is one I could get behind.

The late Sen. McCain as well, though he's no longer with us. Heck, I'd even take Romney at this point.

Our country works best with two grown-up, functioning parties.

Rep. Michael Burgess, a Republican from Texas, praised the CDC at a House hearing in 2016 for quickly developing a vaccine for the swine flu in about six months — in time for the start of the school year in September 2009. “So that’s a 6-month time frame if I’m doing my math correctly that you were able to identify the genetic sequence of the virus, reverse engineer a vaccine, test it, assure its safety and efficacy, and get it to school teachers on the second week of school. That’s pretty impressive,” he said.

It seems like it had to be a case of extreme good luck in addition to hard work and good judgment. It could happen again, too, but I guess the most likely timeline is a longer one ) :
