Not with his views on immigration nor his view of discrediting the media. Reagan was rather nonchalant about his unpopularity with the media. He believed in the Golden Rule, at least when it concerned Americans and those living in the country. That's what made him so retroactively likable. He didn't constantly pick fights with the Press, refuse to do conferences and dinners. He didn't have the option of hiding behind social media to indirectly confront his opponents but stood up to them and spoke his mind without resorting to childish responses. He spoke his positions clearly and firmly and welcomed people to question him. He wanted you on his side without alienating you. Because Reagan was a good President and Trump is not.
