I would almost agree with you, but our government may be even dumber than our general population, so there's that too.

Our government is overreacting to it, just like every other government in the world.
Less than 250,000 victims, less than 20,000 deaths in the entire world--all elderly or with pre-existing health issues affecting immunity--since December. Younger and generally-healthy people have a minimum 98% recovery rate. That's reason to declare a pandemic that grinds everyday life to a halt for weeks or months? Puts people out of work and demolishes worldwide economies? I say "nay, nay".
It's an entirely media-driven panic. It's either worse than we're being told, much worse, or there's another agenda behind it all.
I think Trump and Boris and his Brexit have the Globalist weasels scared shitless. Bu that's just me.

I agree it's been an over reaction in haste and the consequences may well be worse than the pandemic. The health care system does need the curve flattened, but also should have been much better prepared for something of this nature. As far as the mortality rate by age, look at the average age of our so called representatives, which is surely a contributing factor in their decisions. Other than that, there just isn't enough justification to bring the world to a screeching halt. I've always been paranoid about the powers that be since 2001, but that's another story. I'm just not sure what we're seeing now correlates to some grander scheme. We may well be seeing light at the end of the tunnel with people like the Pres. and Lt. Gov. of Texas finally realizing the "solution" may well be worse than the problem. Time will tell...
