I wish that this major failure, in his first real external challenge, would not result in one more death. But, there will be more. One day soon, Trump will wake up and realize that he can't run away from this crisis, by creating a lot of noise about something else, like reporter's questions he does not like. And, he won't be able to keep the Democrats from counting the death toll on his watch, by refusing to let his underlings testify. And, he won't be able to sell this mess as a major success for him, because too many people actually participate in making this government run. They were all tracking the virus and doing related things when he said it would disappear like magic. He may be able to get his syncophants to praise him in briefing sessions. But, no matter how many of his underlings say he's the greatest at mile one and two and three, there are more than twenty miles left to this marathon. And, he's never kept his focus on a project for that long.

He could have taken a few minutes from his campaign against the inquiry into the Ukraine call, which took up most of his days. If we had taken the steps back then that should have been taken, things would be different. We know that these kinds of vuiruses act fast, so serious leaders act fast. He should have been doing this stuff back in early January. He gave the virus an eight week head start. If you think that level of failure will disappear, just because he is finally doing his job, think again.
