Just something weird I noticed.

Some writers do feel troubled filling off female characters and less troubled killing of male characters. A bit of a sexist feeling if you ask me, but still, that could be it....

Cuz men are stupider than women, more likely to charge into a dangerous situation unprepared, and the writers just like to keep the movie realistic

Yes, cuz nothing is more realistic than hollywood.

Or why do they always run TOWARDS the danger and certain death instead of running away?

Same reason why women are kidnapped more in thrillers.
