I think it's quite likely that this photo depicts a state-municipal boundary, and therefore proves only the proposition that some governments are better than others

If that's the case: Depending on the taxation rates on either side of this border, it might even stand for the proposition that higher taxes are a good thing

You really get to enjoy how nice the road is as you sit in a line of cars and wait to pay the toll.

Americans don't like paying higher taxes, so we often reject infrastructure-related tax hikes. But it's self-defeating. Taxes are a better way of financing roads than tolls.

Why? Nobody likes paying tolls, honestly. It's inefficient, annoying, and slows traffic down.

We can have great publicly-financed roads, but we have to be willing to pay what it takes.

And if we do get tax hikes and the roads are still terrible? It's six in one hand and a half dozen in the other.

What I don't comprehend is why it always requires we "raise taxes" to get the job done. When, if ever, will the Democrats have enough money? Why do they always need MORE?

because the Republicans cut taxes every chance they get since they know people love to keep their money. then the Dems get back in once people realize Hey, we actually needed those programs and services that the Republicans stripped or eliminated.
