Ha ha ha but the banks were ok? I paid my own student loans twice! My question for you is this, would you rather have your taxes help your kids pay for college or would you rather your money go to banks that mismanaged money and failed? I would rather your kids and mine got help. Why would I give money to a bank who can’t manage money? I mean the td their only job and they failed.

Truth be told this is both parties. Lib or cons. All they want is to pay corporations so corporations can pay them.

Higher education financing is something that Democrats have been much more involved with for some time now, going back to Clinton.

So the legislation preventing student loans for qualifying for bankruptcy was Democrat, was it? (Hint: it wasn't.)

The legislation that engineered the government take over of the student lending business was.

And so was the "everyone should go to college" policies that greatly expanded student debt and allowed colleges to continue increasing tuition costs because they now had an endless demand pool because everyone could now borrow to pay for it.

There was a time not so long ago that if you had the grades for it, there were options for state-run colleges where tuition was completely free. Together with the GI bill for WW2 veterans, it created an age in America where we had the highest proportion of technical training in the workforce, and it's no coincidence that our country's strongest and most famous industrial boom happened during this time.

So who took those free colleges off the table? Who insisted that one way or another, higher education MUST have an up front price tag for people who have not yet begun their careers?

Those state run colleges weren't meant for everyone, which is why going to college meant something. Then somewhere along the way liberals decided everyone is meant to go to college.

Did you see the part where I explicitly qualified that you had to have the grades for it?

Colleges still require GPAs. So your qualification is largely meaningless.

39 colleges in the United States have a 100% admissions rate. The number of colleges with in excess of 95% admissions rates goes into the hundreds.

And while I'm all in favor of people investing in their skill sets as much as possible, it's severely undermined by making it a risky investment.

Meanwhile, the total number of colleges is around 5,300. So even with 95% or greater admissions rate, you are talking about somewhere around 1/5 or less of colleges.

Again your qualification is largely meaningless.
