I’ve actually volunteered on behalf of migrant farm workers, so it’s the first occupation that came to mind.

But yes, many undocumented workers are employed in other sectors of the economy, generally performing difficult/repetitive tasks for very low pay so that the rest of us enjoy these goods and services for cheaper.

Anyone truly concerned about them would advocate a path to citizenship or at least legal status so they could bargain for greater wages and rights.

I am concerned about them. I advocate for invading their country and removing their corrupt government so that their country can prosper, then they will not have any need to separate themselves from their families, cross another nations border illegally, become a slave (no right to minimum wage, benefits or tax = slavery supported by democrats) to that country, and enjoy the riches of their own homeland. Don't you like my idea better?

So you completely rejected the idea of ending the corrupted government forcing them to illegally migrate, the root cause, to bring everyone here who wants to better their life. Which is very stupid because you referenced Mexico, the second largest economy in Latin America and completely ignored the rest who are poorer than Mexico. But your idea of bringing everyone in, not just Mexicans, will work just fine IF we had unlimited resources, however that is not the case. We have VERY limited resources and we have to protect them. Your answer also proves that you are retarded.

How about we treat decently the legal residents and citizens first?! Which brings me to my next point. How are we going to take good care of people from other countries when we can't take care of our selves? Me putting words in your mouth, no, not me, it is the politicians and the biased media that put words in your mouth. All you are saying is exactly what they want you to say. You have to tackle issues at the root of the problem, else is just a half ass patch. Again the root of the problem is the corrupted government. Else we are just going to keep taking their trash. That we need to improve the way we take down those governments and establishing functional governments is another topic of conversation. But I agree it could be done better, but it is the only solution to their problem, if not we are screwed and doom to become just like them.

Funny, on my other threads Miss KylieFan here claims to be against open borders and illegal immigration while saying all Democrats don’t think the same way about the issue.

She’s been found out.

If you have real ideas for fixing Central American governments that doesn’t involve invading them, I’m all ears

Would you support increased foreign aid? I doubt it

I mean, my church sends people to those countries, we help build pipelines so that they have fresh water, bring them educational materials, and build/reinforce their homes, as well as the word of God. Lots of other churches are doing the same, but you do not hear that in your news. I myself assisted building lots of homes for families in need. But if we do not take down their government, all the cash flow is going to continue to go to those corrupted leaders. Unfortunately the only way to take down power hungry dictators are through war, they are not just going to give up their power, stop dreaming, it wont happen. The problem is that there is no incentive for the government of the US to help those nations, as I mentioned, Democrats like slavery, bringing people to do the cheap labor. We invaded Panama, which BTW I was there during the invasion when they took Noriega out, but the incentive was not to help Panama, actually Panama was really good under Noriega, I was there and I know, but because Noriega threaten US control over the Canal. Same thing with Iraq, the country was doing just fine under Sadam, but the incentive was to gain control over the oil pipelines. We need a government that is intentional about taking down corrupted governments in other countries with the intention to actually help those people, not take advantage of them. Why haven't they invaded Cuba, because Cubans build Florida and was good for the US, no need there, just like any other country in Latin America, as long as there is someone in power getting richer nothing will really happen. Now Kyle, lets talk a bit about you. What do you do to help people in those countries? I want to hear it.

Government corruption, lack of government, same thing, I didn't felt the need to go that granular. Glad that you acknowledge the root cause of the problem is corruption, but you are not willing to do anything about it and you think letting everyone into your country is just fine and you completely ignore the fact that we have limited resources. That is what I am continually hearing from you. Hey, what about Denmark? In a different post, supporting Bernie Sanders, you praised Denmark, which has the worse illegal immigrant policies in Europe, and US compared to Europe as far as illegal immigrants go is VERY relaxed. When Trump gets re-elected, are you moving to Denmark, to enjoy those free social benefits and complain to their government about the way they handle illegal immigrants? I will love to see that, you would be my Hero if you do it. I will go out of my way to tell everyone about how awesome you are that you went to live in Denmark and rebuked their government about their horrid illegal immigrant policies. Or are you just here to shove Bernie Sanders agenda down people's throat and not willing to walk the walk?

In Central/South America, the governments are not true dictatorships, really, unless we’re talking Venezuela and Cuba.

It’s more complicated than that black and white picture. There is corruption: sure. But even bigger factors are the drug trade, gangs, inability to control firearms, and the plain old absence of rule of law. In fighting those things, the government can help, or it can hurt.

I’m not convinced another round of regime change wars in Latin America is necessary or desirable. We tried that a fair bit during the Cold War with very mixed results. More recently, we had the best of intentions when we decided to use force in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and other countries to change the governments, but the results were also tremendously mixed, and usually for the worst.

With that dismal track record, I don’t advocate putting our troops in harm's way in order to “improve” other countries through regime change. Only if there is an actual national security threat to us.

As for me: I’ve never been to Latin America except as a tourist, myself, but I have volunteered for migrant communities here in this country.

And when I speak on these issues, I support the expansion of their legal rights. And I refrain from advocating the invasion of other countries when I see little evidence that will help.

We clearly have two very different approaches to this, but that’s what I do to help.
