wOw, amazing, yet not surprising.
Round the late 80s, Israel made a big show of airlifting Ethiopian Jews to Israel to escape the alleged threat of Christains and Communism in Ethiopia, even though there was no such threat percieved by anyone else. They had been living isolated up in the mountains since King Soloman, so isolated they didn't even know there were other Jews in the world till later in the last century. 40,000 removed is in my my head, not sure if that's correct though.
Anyways, many criticized this, saying it was unnecessary, and would be a threat to their unique culture plus their place in Ethiopian culture and history as well. Ultimately they would be blended out of history themselves in Israel. It was also said they were pressured by Israel, told they were in imminent danger of being slaughtered, and that they had no idea what they were in for by moving.
Years later, they weren't do well in their new home, left to live in slums, and predicted to become a perpetual lower class like Blacks in the US.
And now this, sterilization without them knowing, by the ones who hoodwinked them into leaving the homes they lived in peacefully for thousands of years.
Israel had also always treated the Sephardics as second class citizens until their rising numbers gave the Askanizis cause to rethink this, because when they become an overwhelming majority, they might return the favor.
OH! Just remembered! When Sephardim were being relocated to Israel decades ago, there was some confusion, families separated, and children went missing. OOPS, just misplaced them somewhere! Sorry, they died!
Decades later it turned out that these kids were adopted out to Askanazi families who had lost their own children in the Holocaust. Imagine? This is how they treat their (almost) own kind. Disgusting.
