You can only use deadly force if you are in fear of serious bodily harm or death, not to protect property.
Stand your ground, Castle doctrine or No Duty to retreat only count for persons not property.
Not sure about Texas.

On the property point I was referencing Texas legislation, which does give you right to use deadly force to reclaim land or property.

Yes, you are correct, I looked it up after I posted. That is illegal in most states.
