And, you were there, in Kabul with him. So, you know this to be true? He did not serve in direct combat. But, most people in the armed forces do not. In five years in the Air Force working for NSA, my brother did not leave a military base. But, he intercepted and decoded Chinese Military messages, that were important. My time in the Army was spent mostly tearing down buildings in Northern California. My best friend spent most of his Marine Corps enlistment counting everything from typewriters at Nixon's West Coast White House, to damaged vehicles at Camp Pendleton. Are you going to say that we are somehow deficient? According to the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program about 15% of all Vietnam Veterans served in combat or combat support. Are we not supposed to support the other 85% of our troops. I respect people who did not serve. Not everyone is fit for active duty or would benefit from the experience. I respect everyone who served. I have no respect for people who did not serve and disparage those who did, but disagree with them politically.
As for General Flynn, he was convicted in a Federal Court of breaking the law, unrelated to his active duty service. I respect his service and admire him for rising as high as he did and accomplshing what he did.
Which guys are you lumping me in with?
