Hmm, all of the publications carrying that story use the same script, and all of them are left-leaning. I thought maybe Snopes would have fact-checked this, but they only fact-checked when Nancy did it, and guess what they determined? It was in fact an epic troll, a memorable protest and exercise of free speech that will go down in the history books. In my opinion.

However: Some of this other shit Trump’s done to fail to preserve records of his Administration might be illegal!

And the experience of impeachment — in particular the total stonewalling — leads me to believe that the stories about Trump’s Administration which have hit the news are just the tip of the iceberg of his corruption. In my opinion.

There was a lot of debate over just how broad to make the impeachment articles.

Toss in the kitchen sink, or be more focused

In the end, Dems chose a pretty narrow path, focusing just on the misconduct in Ukraine and the related obstruction.

Not even anything from the Mueller probe!

I think this was the right call, honestly.

But: it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Republicans still found every excuse known to mankind not to take the impeachment seriously.

This is a problem not just now, but going forward.

If Republicans ever feel the need to impeach a Democrat, you bet the Trump impeachment will be used as precedent

To the point that I believe impeachment is basically dead letter. A well-intentioned but, for all practical purposes, ineffective constitutional tool for holding corrupt presidents accountable.

Voters decide every four years and that is it.

So, in essence, the Dems that were so gung-ho to "IMPEACH 45!!" totally dropped the ball, wasted tax money FOR YEARS and are now so totally humiliated that they are hemorrhaging voters. smh

If you regard efforts by the Legislative Branch to hold the President accountable as a waste of taxpayer money: then sure

But the President himself could have spared us all that time and effort by not sticking his nose in the mud in the first place

As for hemorrhaging voters: we’ll see come November!
