This is a five-alarm fire for our Republic. Trump is aiming, and mostly succeeding, to make himself effectively unaccountable.

NOT TO BE A NIT-PICKING NANCY BUT THIS IS HOW TRUMP HAS DONE IT SINCE HE GOT IN OFFICE | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
trump has effectively taken over the republican party, and this tactic right here, along with his social media skillz,is a major factor.

there is a real danger here, considering trump really doesn't have an ideology.
he tends to engage with his administration with "the mafia principle" rather than "adversarial".
loyalty is prized far more than expertise, experience or diplomacy.

we live in interesting times my friend.

Because no other president in our history has ever had disagreements or people who were working against him and they were dismissed or resigned. https://www.rollcall.com/2017/05/10/a-list-of-notable-presidential-firings-since-1951/

When you testify as part of a congressional investigation and then you’re fired two days after your boss is acquitted for the thing you testified about, it’s different.

It’s retaliation!

wonder how many of the posters here (if they even have a job) would get to keep their job if they had accused their boss of something that he was acquitted of.

Blowing the whistle is protected activity, full stop.

As is testifying in connection with an investigation against your employer.

The ultimate outcome of the case is totally irrelevant.

Ambassador Sondland did both. If this were a case at a private company as you suggest, this would be an open-and-shut case and the egregious timeline and Trump’s own statements straight from the horse’s mouth would probably warrant punitive damages.

The only reason Trump will probably get away with this, just as he’s gotten away with so much else before, is that as — we are discovering — it is extremely difficult to hold a U.S. presidential administration accountable for anything in practical terms.

its hard to hold one accountable, when the entire party does not care about the constitution, law, or their country, when all they care about is appeasing a whiny man baby.
