The civility gap has become gaping and glaring

Democrats are constantly pilloried by the Right for stuff like this, or for talking about arugula instead of a real American food like lettuce, or for using the word “deplorables” in a single speech, or just vaguely even using the wrong “tone”

Meanwhile Republicans let their own get away with all kinds of stuff: from implying Obama’s a Muslim or not a real U.S. citizen, to calling for Dems to be strung up and hung, to sexual assault, all the way up to international-level geopolitical quid pro quo and election rigging schemes

The GOP at this point is a vehicle for partisanship and white identity politics pure and simple

I wish it wasn’t so, since I’d like to have a real decision at election time, but them’s the facts
